KUCHING: Sarawak Information Department (JaPen) has engaged actively at 1,551 locations throughout Sarawak to disseminate information on the recent Emergency Proclamation.

The proclamation was declared by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, effective from Jan 11 until Aug 1.

In a statement, JaPen has distributed out leaflets of Emergency Proclamation, including posters on Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) compliances and new norm’s culture to communities at 33 districts and five small districts.

The department’s director Swady Guliling said his department will remain committed by being persistent toward the tasks as frontline workers.

He stated that it is JaPen’s responsibility to ensure that the communities who are without any internet access in the rural areas can get information on the government’s initiatives and policies.

JaPen also use spot announcement mobility over loud speaker to remind the community around the city, near township, villages and longhouses area during the movement control order (MCO) period.
