SEMOP: The involvement of Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) is vital in ensuring that development projects are implemented smoothly.

Assistant Minister under Chief Minister’s Department (Corporate Affairs and Sarawak Public Communications Unit) Abdullah Saidol said the role of these committees was important, especially to monitor projects in their respective areas.

According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), he said this after visiting and handing over Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant allocations at Kampung Kut, Kampung Semop, and Rumah Jingga Igon at Sungai Kelai on Sunday (Feb 14).

During the visit, Abdullah, who is also Semop assemblyman, presented funds for MRP amounting to RM100,000 to the Kampung Kut JKKK for the preparation of a cemetery.

At the same village, he also inspected the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) involving the repair of the Kampung Kut multipurpose court, as well as surveyed the construction of the new Masjid Kampung Kut bridge which had been completed at a cost of RM250,000.
