KUCHING: Sarawak State Mosque Welfare Trust Board (LAKMNS) will host the upcoming Maal Hijrah Festival 1444H/2022 on July 29-31 at Masjid Jamek.
According to LAKMNS chief executive officer Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai said the festival was one of LAKMNS’ initiatives to enliven the Maal Hijrah celebration.
“The festival is organised based on several objectives. Firstly, it acts as a platform to impart knowledge regarding Maal Hijrah. It is also an effort to enliven the mosque as well as promote a healthy lifestyle based on religious values through programmes that are spiritual in nature among the communities.”
He was speaking to the media at the Baitul Makmur II seminar room here on Thursday (July 14).
Among the activities that will take place are Malam Cinta Rasul featuring well-known preacher Ustaz Ahmad Rizam Ghazali, cycling activities, career and education exhibitions, and performances from the In-Team Nasyid group. LAKMNS also provides special prizes to visitors through the lucky draw events.
Meanwhile, TV Sarawak (TVS) and Senari Synergy Sdn Bhd would be the official media and platinum sponsor for the festival respectively.
Abdul Wahap also introduced the festival’s official portal, fmh2022.com, which was developed by the Project Management and Technology Division, Department of Finance, LAKMNS.
“This portal is actually part of LAKMNS’ efforts to provide digital media services in the future. We also offer portal development services to interested agencies.
“This portal also provides information regarding the festival, including the upcoming programmes and those who are interested in joining any of the programmes can register through this portal.”
He also revealed that LAKMNS was working with SPay Global as the provider of the payment platform.
Also present at the press conference was LAKMNS deputy CEO Mohamad Feisal Said and representatives from TVS and Senari Synergy Sdn Bhd.
