Kicking off National Month

Date:

KAPIT: The Kapit District Information Department (JaPen Kapit) has kicked-off National Month by disseminating the message of independence through the Info on Wheels (IOW) Merdeka programme.

Aware of the challenges posed by Covid-19, the department said IOW Merdeka was implemented to call on the public to fly the Jalur Gemilang at their homes and premises.

“Apart from that, JaPen Kapit members also presented various information related to the National Month celebration such as the history of the Jalur Gemilang and the theme of the 2021 National Month celebration,” it said in a statement on Monday (Aug 2).

It said through the programme, activities such as poetry competitions, klik@MERDEKA, colouring competitions and others were also conducted online.

“IOW Merdeka has been implemented since the end of July and will be implemented until the Malaysia Day celebration on September 16,” it added.
