KUCHING: Kampung Tringgus in Bau will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) for two weeks beginning at 12.01 midnight of March 8 until 11.59pm on March 21.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said on Sunday (March 7) that the decision was made in view of the increasing number of positive cases from the village.
Bau District is also a red zone after reporting a total of 41 cases of local infections within the past 14 days.
Today, 18 new cases were reported involving individuals screened through active case detection (ACD) of contacts of positive cases.
Meanwhile, SDMC said the police have issued a total of 89 compounds to those who have violated the standard operating procedures to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Of those being compounded, 68 were in Kuching District, 12 in Sibu, and four in Padawan.
