MUKAH: Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah have suggested that Sedidik nursery centres statewide to take a leading role in implementing the inclusivity policy.

She said inclusivity in education had been drafted as one of the resolutions of the early childhood education development dialogue in Kuching last month.

“Every child has a right to education, including a special child, and he or she must be given the same opportunity,” she said during her visit to second-placed state quality award 2019 winner Taska Sedidik Mutiara Mukah here Saturday.

Fatimah was accompanied by State Community Development director Zamri Mustajab and his deputy Monalizawati Abang Ismail and Early Childhood Education Development Unit head Salina Bujang.

According to Fatimah, inclusivity could help expedite the rate of rehabilitation among special children especially those with autistic problems.

She said through inclusivity normal children in the same classroom could also learn how to accept and respect each other.

The Dalat assemblywoman also advised Sedidik Sdn Bhd general manager Norashikin Abdul Rahman to find ways to get a permanent place to house the nursery.

“I learned that this nursery is renting, so if the building owner wants to use it, it means you will have to move out,” she said adding that, Sedidik has to do something about this matter so as not to affect the smooth running of the nursery.
