THE physical repair has been completed but currently the pipeline is undergoing leak test.

MIRI: Repair work for a leaking 1,100mm water main pipeline at Mile 7, Miri-Bintulu Road (near PSLUSPAKOM) is completed.
In a statement released yesterday at 1.45pm, the water supply will be resumed gradually in stages.

However, water pressure takes time to build up and may cause inconveniences as some will experience coloured water and low water pressure.

LAKU Management Sdn Bhd’s maintenance teams will be working round the clock to carry out flushing and release ‘airlock’ from the water pipe system to ensure uninterrupted water supply to all, the statement added.

On June 16, the pipeline’s joints were dislodged following a ground movement, causing water disruptions that lasted four days for 65,000 consumers in Miri.

The repair work commenced immediately and was supposed to complete by 5pm on June 17, but due to heavy rain, it was delayed and was only completed yesterday.

The physical repair of the pipeline completed at 3am yesterday but currently the pipeline is undergoing leak test prior to commissioning.
