KUCHING: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) has launched its Lemari Madani HELP_A food aid cabinet to assist its students in need of food.

Operated by the university’s Student Affairs and Alumni Office (HEPA), it is an initiative aimed at helping students in need.

Donations collected come in the form of food and drinks, and HEPA also receives donations from UNIMAS staff as well as external parties.

UNIMAS Board of Directors chairman Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Sulong Matjeraie and the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Al-Khalid Othman, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student and Alumni Affairs) also made donations towards the cause.

The food aid cabinet is strategically placed on the lower ground level of the HEPA building, making it easily accessible for students to take the food they need.

In the future, the management of the food aid cabinet will be handed over to the Student Representative Council to ensure continuity.
