KUCHING: The Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration among the Armed Forces here today was lively despite the new normal guidelines set by Sarawak Islamic Religious Council.
The celebration, held at Solahuddin Al–Ayyubi Mosque, Kem Penrissen, started with ‘Takbir Raya’, ‘Sunat Aidiladha Prayer’ and ‘Special Adiladha Sermon’ led by Major Subri Ghazali.

The ceremony was also attended by Eastern Field Commander Lieutenant General Datuk Mohd Zakaria Yadi, who presented the slaughter knife to the First Division religious officer Major Md Shahrim Abd Hamid, the slaughter head, to symbolise the start of the korban rituals.

Seven cows and three goats were sacrificed this year. Two cows each were donated by Kota Samarahan MP Rubiah Wang and Stakan assemblyman Datuk Seri Mohammad Ali Mahmud while three cows and three goats were from the military personnel in Kuching Zone.

The korban ritual is performed in a ‘gotong royong’ manner according to the new normal guides.

The korban rituals were slightly different because of the new normal guidelines. However, the celebration was still lively as it was participated by all the military personnel in Kuching Zone.
