KUCHING: The Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government will be hosting the first Zhenjiang Media Cooperation and Communication Forum with International Friendship Cities 2019 starting today until Oct 14 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China.

Themed ‘Gathering in Zhejiang and Communication with the World’, the forum will see the gathering of media representatives and media authorities from Zhejiang’s overseas friendship ciities, overseas experts on China issues, representatives of China’s national and provincial mainstream media and heads of relevant provincial departments.

The Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Kuching has invited representatives from the local media to participate in the forum. About 13 media personnel from various organisations will attend the forum.

The media representatives will also be taken on visits to historic and scenic cities such as Zhenjiang, Nanjing, Jiangsu, and also Shanghai as part of the forum’s programme.

On the morning of Oct 11, the media representatives will first attend a forum entitled ‘Integrated Development and Changes in Communication’. In the afternoon, they will participate in the International Friendship City Media Matching Fair.

From Oct 12 until Oct 14, they will be taken to cities such as Hangzhou, Ningbo and Shaoxing to experience the beauty and see for themselves the development, culture and beauty of Zhejiang Province.

On Oct 15, they will depart for Jiangsu, Nanjing by taking the high-speed rail, which takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. They will spend another four days in Nanjing to visit the attractions there before
returning to Zhenjiang on Oct 19.

The media representatives will continue their journey by taking the high-speed train from Zhenjiang to Shanghai, China’s biggest city and global financial hub on Oct 22.

The following day will be their last day in Shanghai before
returning to Kuching.

This trip will definitely be an eye-opening experience for the various media representatives from Sarawak.
