KUCHING: A lorry driver was killed after a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle allegedly crashed into him at the Darul Hana Housing project site area, Petra Jaya last Saturday (Feb 20).

The incident happened around 2pm when the victim, 28, was standing behind his lorry. The driver of the 4WD reportedly reversed his vehicle to leave the site and crashed into the victim.

Sarawak Traffic Police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the victim identified as Bong Kai Feng, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).

“Investigations found that the accident happened when the victim is believed to be standing behind his lorry while waiting for his load of tar to be unloaded for road construction purposes.

“The 4WD driver, 26, reversed his vehicle to leave the site without realising that a person was behind his car,” he said.

The victim’s body was later taken to SGH Forensic unit for further actions.
