MUKAH: A trader was arrested for possessing drugs on Sunday (Feb 13).
Mukah police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias said the 21-year-old suspect was nabbed during an operation codenamed Ops Tapis at Jalan Pinangon here.
The police inspected the suspect in front of an unnumbered house at 7.30am and found a straw tube containing crystalline lumps, believed to be methamphetamine inside his pocket.
The drugs, weighing 0.12g, as well as the man were taken to the police station for further action.
Muhamad Rizal added that background checks found that the suspect have a past record related to drug abuse. He was however tested negative for drugs.
The case is being investigated under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
