SARATOK: A man, placed under police supervision (OPP) for two years, ran away recently.

Police re-arrested him today after he was found sleeping in a car in town here.

Saratok OCPD DSP Mordani Tanin said the 22-year-old suspect was arrested at midnight when a team from the district’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) conducted a crime prevention patrol around the town.

“Upon arriving in front of a private clinic, the team noticed a white Proton Wira in a suspicious condition.

“The team examined the vehicle and found a man sleeping inside,” he said.

That was when police found out that the man was a OPP who had reportedly ran away.

Mordani explained that the suspect had past offences related to Section 457 of the Penal Code.

The suspect was found not to be in the surveillance area and he had failed to report himself at the Saratok police station since Jan 17.
