KUCHING: Deputy Chief Minister and President of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS),Tan Sri Dr. James Jemut Masing, on Sunday night sacked his Deputy President, Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun, Supreme Council member, Datuk William Nyallau and three others with immediate effect for challenging the party over its candidacy list for the 14th General Election, causing disunity within the party and ridiculing the party publicly with their speeches.

The other three – Supreme Council members, Nyempah Sabot,Adriana Chumang and Edward Kurik – were expelled for co-horting with Entulu and Nyallau to destroy the party’s reputation.

Masing led an emergency Supreme Council meeting  at the party’s headquarters on Sunday night.

Entulu, who was the incumbent for Selangau parliamentary seat, will be replaced by Rita Insol while Nyallau, the incumbent for the Lubok Antu parliamentary seat, is replaced by Robert Pasang.

Masing said the meeting appointed a special task force which he chaired. Members of the task force unanimously decided to expel the five.

Masing, who read out the expulsion letter for Entulu, said  letters would be sent to all the five members who had been sacked after the press conference.

The PRS President said he was angered by the attitude of Entulu and Nyallau who carried on campaigning for their respective seats despite being dropped and he said there was strong evidence of their public misconduct.

As PRS President, Masing added he had the right to nominate candidates for the seats allocated and members must abide by the party’s decision.

“Now that Entulu and Nyallau are no longer PRS members, they are free to campaign as independents as there are no BN direct candidates in the  election.

“The expulsion is necessary as PRS wants to put an end to all the disunity and concentrate on winning the election,”added Masing

Meanwhile, the incumbents PRS has re-nominated for the parliamentary seats in Sarawak are Datuk Masir Kujat  (Sri Aman), Datuk Joseph Salang (Julau), Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang (Kanowit) and Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong (Hulu Rajang).
