KUCHING: The media has a significant role in informing young voters about the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15).
Liew Clan Youth Group chairman Liew Sik Chai stated that this was one of the ways to encourage people, especially the youth, to come out and cast their votes.
He stated that not many youngsters actually knew that they could vote so the media could play a role in informing them of their responsibility.
“The media could help the youth to understand our country’s history and let them make choices on their own.
“This can help to mature their thinking and as the future of our country, the election can actually help our youth to grow,” he said on yesterday (Oct 18).
He advised the youth to take part in the upcoming GE15 by casting their votes. “Their votes can affect the country and they must take pride in their civic duty.”
