KUCHING: Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) Sarawak enforcement chief Mogan Arumugam did a walkabout at Mydin Hypermarket, Vista Tunku here to ensure compliance of the Hari Raya Puasa Maximum Price Scheme (SHMMP HRP).

“SHMMP HRP is effective from April 26 until May 6, which is seven days before, during and three days after the Raya celebration.

“The ministry did not rule out the possibility of extending the scheme if there is a need,” according to a statement on Tuesday (April 26).

In Sarawak, a total of 18 types of goods are in the maximum price scheme, including seafood, dried goods, vegetables and meat.

The number of price-controlled items for the Maximum Pricing of Chickens and Eggs, and SHMMP HRP, is 28 types of goods.

A total of 176 enforcement officers and 101 monitoring officers from the ministry will be at various locations such as public markets, wet markets and supermarkets to carry out inspections and monitoring daily to ensure traders comply with the directive.
