KUCHING: The Ministry of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development will ‘woo’ Megalanes Sarawak in Emart Batu Kawa to become one of its strategic partners for Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC) assistance.

The idea was first mooted by Persatuan Tenpin Boling Para Negeri Sarawak (PTBPNS) president Dunstan Lim who expressed his intention to discuss with the Megalanes management to provide special rates for KGC holders.

To this, Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah seconded the idea and hoped for the matter to be materialised soon.

“I fully support what Dunstan recommended. We hope the Megalanes would be able to provide discounts just like some other strategic partners of KGC.

“Probably the Megalanes can look into providing 10 percent discount in terms of entrance fees and so on.

“We will pursue this matter in view of encouraging response from our KGC holders,” she said.

She said this when officiating at the prize presentation ceremony for Sarawak Para Bowling Association (PBA) Bowling Carnival 2020 held at Megalanes Emart Batu Kawa here on Sunday (Oct 11).

About 200 people participated in the carnival which was held on Oct 8, 10 and 11.

Fatimah noted that the carnival was a good platform for the para athletes to have the opportunity to compete with able-bodied people in tenpin bowling sports.

“Through this effort, the athletes can measure their standard of abilities and feel motivated to work even harder in view of the coming Para Sukma next year,” she said.
