MIRI: Milling works on a section of Jalan Tanjong Lobang covering 380 metres is expected to be completed today (September 9).
This was said by Miri City mayor Adam Yii when met yesterday (Sept 8) after inspecting the project’s progress which commenced on September 6, at an estimated cost of about RM317,000.
“We are using the milling method for the upgrading of this section of Jalan Tanjong Lobang to improve the safety and efficiency of the road,” he said.
He said the milling method is the new method used by the Miri City Council (MCC); it is a process that removes part of a paved surface,” he said.
He added that the method was used last year by the Miri Public Works Department (JKR) to resurface the Miri-Pujut road, as well as the section of road in Piasau heading to Lutong Bridge.
On another matter, the council alongside Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) Miri branch, and JKR are closely working together to mitigate flooding issues in the city, especially in flood-prone areas.
