KUALA LUMPUR: Tekun Nasional is offering a special initiative known as “Inisiatif Prihatin Banjir” for Tekun entrepreneurs who are affected by the floods.

Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said the facilities offered by Tekun Nasional included providing a moratorium of up to six months to entrepreneurs who have difficulty making their financing repayment.

He said Tekun entrepreneurs affected by the floods are allowed to withdraw savings in their financing accounts and can also reschedule their financing repayment.

“For Tekun entrepreneurs whose business premises and stock are damaged in the flood, they can apply for overlapping financing to restart their business.

“During this difficult period, the entrepreneurs should be assisted to ensure that they can continue their business and for their survival,” he said in a statement issued by the ministry today.

According to the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (Medac), entrepreneurs can submit their applications at all Tekun branch offices by enclosing two photographs of their business premises, goods or stock, or house that were damaged in the floods, as well as verification from the Tekun officer at the nearest branch office.

Applications can be submitted within three months from the date of the disaster, it said, adding that more information on the initiative will be announced on the Tekun social media.
