More than 50,000 received booster shots

KUCHING: A total of 55,077 Sarawakians have received the Covid-19 booster shots as of Oct 28.Deputy health director Dr Rosemawati Ariffin said this in a statement issued yesterday (Oct 29).

She said that the administration of the booster shots have been conducted at private clinics and hospitals, government health clinics, vaccination centres (PPVs) as well as via mobile throughout the state.

“The department would like to urge those eligible who have received their appointments via MySejahtera to come to any health facility for the booster shots.

“For those who have not yet made any vaccination appointments, please contact any health facility nearby to do so,” she said.

The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine has been approved to be used as for the booster shots.

Recipients who have completed their first and second doses of the Pfizer vaccine are allowed receive a booster shot six months after they have received their second dose.

As for Sinovac vaccine recipients, they are allowed to get a booster shot three months after their second dose.
