KUCHING: Darul Husni Warrahmah Mosque, Taman Hussein received RM500,000 allocation from Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
The handing over of the allocation was done by his representative, Minister of Works, Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof to the mosque chairman, Hamdan Hj Sharbini on Sunday.
The allocation given to the mosque was to fulfill his promise during his visit to the mosque that was undergoing renovation on 24 November, last year.
Fadillah said, it was to cater for the cost of the renovation which also will undergo the second phase of upgrading soon as well as to assist the nearby Surau around the area.
“The first phase of the renovation has to change most of the structure as well as the facilities and for the second phase, we will work together to find another funding to construct the new hall,” said Fadillah and announced an added RM200,000 allocation from himself to the mosque.
Meanwhile, he suggested to the community to use the mosque as a venue for education and community activities.
“We can have a learning lesson inside this building especially for the school students to improve their Science, Mathematics, English and other subjects.
“The community also can create a community event which involves mosque committee members to enhance the relationships of community members around this area,” he pointed out.
At the same time, Fadillah also handed some funds from the Darul Husni Warrahmah Mosque, valued RM11,000 to some of the selected Surau.
Fadillah earlier, together with the community, performed a Maghrib and Isyak prayers as well as having a short Tazkirah (talk by the Ustaz).
