MUKAH: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) to organise a short business-related course between Tellian constituency and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Mukah Campus is expected to be signed here soon.
Tellian assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo said the matter had been discussed earlier between both parties here.
He added the collaboration was aimed at sharing knowledge on matters such as simple book keeping and marketing by UiTM through a short course, and to be attended by participants involved in small business.
“The allocation for that purpose has been approved by the Chief Minister (Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg,” he said when officiating at a soft opening of Pusat Komersial Desa Tellian/Gerai Hasil Laut at Kampung Seri Tellian (Tellian Tengah) here today.
Yussibnosh, who was former Balingian assemblyman, explained that by organising such a course, it is hoped that small traders would learn some basics about business such as simple book keeping.
He added throughout the short course, the participants might be required to stay at UiTM, so that they could also feel like studying there.
It is learned that the collaboration transpired following a courtesy call by UiTM delegates on Yussibnosh last year.
