SERIAN: Minor Rural Project (MRP) funds will continue to be channelled for the benefit of village organisations in the Kedup constituency.

Assemblyman Martin Ben has announced the disbursement of MRP grants to organisations in Kampung Meboi.

He expressed hope that, with substantial government funding, the residents could further enhance agricultural and cash crop activities.

“This will not only be for self-sufficiency but also for sale, thereby increasing the folk’s income,” he said during the ‘Pemimpin Bersama Rakyat’ event recently.

The funding included an MRP grant of RM10,000 to the village security and development committee (JKKK).

Additionally, RM5,000 each was allocated to the Meboi Women’s Bureau and the Meboi Youth Association for conducting small-scale activities or projects beneficial to the residents.

Martin, who also serves as Deputy Minister for Food Industry, Commodities and Regional Development, also announced RM5,000 for each of the 16 JKKKs from villages around Kedup that were present at the event, in addition to providing a fund of RM5,000 for each of the 16 Iban Women’s Bureaus and 21 Bidayuh Women’s Bureaus.
