KUCHING: The Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRC) in collaboration with Pertubuhan Pembangunan Insan Sarawak (PPIS) distributed food baskets, sponsored by ‘Team 139’, to 40 underprivileged families at Kota Sentosa.

The MRC Sarawak team was led by Humanitarian Aid Committee chairman and Stampin branch deputy chairman Chew Kim Soon, and supported by 78th VAD from Stampin branch.

PPIS president Manjeet Kaur Sidhu said the beneficiaries consist of Iban, Chinese, Malay and Indian families from Jalan Lapangan Terbang, Kampung Kudei Lama, 6th and 9th Mile Penrissen Road.

“The food aid will help ease the burden of these families and indirectly improve their standard of nutrition,” she said.
