MARUDI: Swift action by the next door neighbour saved a home from utter ruin after a fire broke out late Tuesday (Jan 17) at Kampung Kayan, Pekan Long Lama.
According to Miri Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) acting chief Ahmad Nizam Sapaiee, the neighbour, identified as Jennifer Seping Ajeng, doused the flames using water from her home.
“The blaze destroyed 10 per cent of the house’s kitchen. Thankfully, no one was injured.
“We were told that the incident happened at around 8.22pm,” said Ahmad Nizam.
