101 receive Sarawak State Awards

KUCHING: A total of 101 individuals were bestowed with Sarawak State Awards at an Investiture Ceremony held at the Astana Negeri, here yesterday.

Head of State Tun Peh in Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud officiated at the ceremony that also saw the presence of Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib.

Leading the list of recipients was a former government servant Chang Pat Foh,who received the Johan Bintang Kenyalang (J.B.K).

Seven individuals received the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (P.B.K) Medals namely Dr. Lanie ak. Daga, Boniface ak. Edwin Manung, Hamden Mohamad, Kueh Hui Urg, Rasdi Johari, Raymund Joseph Tanin and Tomi Jaya.

A total of 15 received the Civil Service Medals Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (P.P.B.) while three received the Ahli Bintang Sarawak (A.B.S.). Subsequently, 23 were bestowed with the Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (A.B.K.) Medal whereas another 15 received the Civil Service Medal Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (P.P.T.).

The ceremony ended after 37 others received the Bentara Bintang Sarawak (B.B.S) Medals, the biggest number of recipients for any award yesterday.

Also attending the event were Minister of Rural Electricity and Water Supply Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, Assistant Minister of Law, State-Federal Relations and Project Monitoring Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, distinguished guests and heads of departments.
