250 attends dialogue on public safety

MARUDI: A total 250 people from Long Bedian attended a dialogue session on public safety with the police and Telang Usan district officer at the Long Bedian Community hall yesterday.

The talk on public safety was delivered by Baram District Police chief, DSP Gabriel Risut.

During the dialogue session, the residents of Long Bedian requested the police to set up a police kiosk (pondok polis) by renovating a section of the Information Technology (ICT) centre in their area.

They also wanted the police to carry out patrols around their areas and give talks on the dangers of drugs and crime prevention.

Telang Usan State Assemblyman, Dennis Ngau who attended the event said he would provide an allocation for the renovation.

Meanwhile, Garbiel when met said they would hold a high profile policing programme in April.
