KAPIT: Fifty Iban community leaders here led by Temenggong Wilfred Billy Banyau and Pemanca David Dian Langkau attended a two-day workshop on ‘Adat Iban, Pulau Galau and Pemakai Menoa’ held at Meligai Hotel here, recently.

The workshop was organised by Majlis Adat Istiadat Sarawak.

Speaking on behalf of the community leaders, Temenggong Wilfred Billy Banyau pointed out that the workshop, among others, was focused on Adat Iban especially on ‘Pulau Galau’ (PG) and ‘Pemakai Menoa’ (PM).

He added that the workshop was very useful because it was informative especially on the various aspects of ‘Pulau Galau and Pemakai Menoa’.

“I am thankful to the Majlis Adat Istiadat Sarawak for organising this workshop which was attended by all Dayak community leaders in Kapit. The workshop was timely and very useful to us as community leaders because we should know every aspect relating to the ‘Pulau Galau and Pemakai Menoa’. There are many court cases involving ‘Adat Iban’ pertaining to land issues which are always close to the hearts of the Dayak community,” said Temenggong Billy.
