KUCHING: Agence France- Presse (AFP) an international new agency, made a business visit to Sarawak Press Sdn Bhd yesterday to discuss current and future plans between the two agencies.

The Sarawak Press Sdn Bhd has been using AFP’s service for World, Sports and Business news items for a while now.

Representing AFP was Country Manager ( Sales & Marketing), Alric Manickam, who expressed AFP’s aspi rations to move into digital and social media. “We will be providing more access on photos and videos as well as online rights in social media.

This is our main drive. “We have also increased our manpower including photographers, videographers, writers and expand our Malaysian content.

“Hence, I would like to express my gratitude for continuously using our services. By all means, if there is any disruption in fetching news or images from our servers, directly contact me,” he said.

Alric also disclosed that AFP was the top news agency in providing content for general and sports particularly in Asia.

He added that the year 2018 would be full of sporting events which include the PyeongChang Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, FIFA World Cup Russia, Gold Coas t Commonweal t h Games and more.
