KUCHING: Amy Donysos, 26, from Kampung Annah Rais, Padawan was crowned Bidayuh Dayung Sangon (beauty queen) in the Rami Gawia Semeba beauty pageant held in conjunction with Gawai Dayak at Kampung Semeba community hall here last Saturday.
The pharmacy officer beat nine other contestants to capture the crown.
Besides a trophy, a sash, and other complimentary prizes, Amy also took home a cash prize of RM1500.
Meanwhile, a 19-year-old Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) student from Kampung Taee, Serian, Nicole Hartman Ricky came second in the beauty contest while a 22- year-old Open Universiti Malaysia (OUM) undergraduate from Kampung Garung, Padawan, Jacqueencya Delvya Douglas was third.
Besides trophies, sashes and other complimentary prizes, Nicole and Jacqueencya also received RM1200 and RM900 respectively.
The prize presentation ceremony was graced by the guest of honour and Batu Kitang State Assemblyman, Lo Khere Chiang.
