SIBU:A 30-year-old man was yesterday sentenced to seven years’ jail and two strokes of the rotan by the Sessions Court here after he was found guilty of a robbery charge two years ago.
Judge Caroline Bee Majanil passed the sentence on Faizal Zaini who robbed Jaliha Baduwi,39, of a gold ring while armed with a knife.
He committed the case at a rented house at Jalan Hua Kiew on November 19, 2016 at about 4pm.
The prosecutor called five witnesses to the stand while the defence counsel called three witnesses including the accused.
