Awang Tengah continues to lead PBB Bukit Sari Branch

LAWAS: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan retained the chairman post of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Bukit Sari Branch unopposed during the branch triennial general meeting and election of new office bearers for the 2017-2020 term, yesterday.

Most of the branch incumbents won uncontested. The meeting also coincided with Awang Tengah’s birthday.

With the win, Awang Tengah and his deputy, Councillor Awangku Jinal Abidin Peng i r an Ha j i Jawa will continue to lead the party branch to greater heights and s e r v ing vot e r s in the Buk i t Sari constituency.

“This is the smoothest TGM when all the incumbents won unopposed which also reflected that the members still wanted the incumbents to continue with the branch agenda to serve the voters of Bukit Sari,” Awang Tengah said. He also thanked all the delegates and members of Bukit Sari branch for their trust and confidence in the branch office bearers for them to continue to lead for another term.

A total of 32 sub-branches of PBB under Bukit Sari Branch have unanimously elected Awang Tengah as the branch chairman, Awangku Jinal Abidin and deputy chairman and Abdul Kadir Tussin vice chairman during the election held.

Abdul Kadir who was former secretar y of the branch and Ai shah Bahar who retained her post a the branch women chief and Madon Nasip who was appointed the Youth chief was also elected as vice chairman. The meeting conducted by State PBB Executive Secretary, Datuk Awang Bujang Awang Antek ran smoothly when 20 candidates for the executive committee withdrew to give way to 19 candidates to continue with their duties.

Meanwhile, Awang Karim bin Awang Saman, Awang @ Ibrahim bin Ahmat retained his treasurer’s post while the post of information chief went to Awang Aris Haji Narudin. The post of assistant treasurer went to Zamzan bin Said while the post of assistant secretary went to Abu Bahr in bin Haji Redua and the post of executive secretary went to Haris bin Majid.

After the me et ing Awang Tengah was given the honour to cut his birthday cake. Also present were Deput y Minister of Domestice Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism, Dato Henry Sum Agong who is also chairman of PBB Ba’kelalan Branch, Assisitant Minister of e-Commerce, Dato Haji Mohd Naroden bin Majais and local dignitaries.
