KUCHING: President of Sarawak Association of Wives of Ministers and Assistant Ministers (SABATI) Datin Patinggi Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang leads the list of recipients of state honours and awards in conjunction with Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud’s 82nd birthday.

Juma’ani, who is the wife of Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg, will be conferred the Datuk Amar Bintang Kenyalang award which carries the title ‘Datuk Amar’ at the investiture ceremony to be held in Sibu today.

Former Sarawak deputy police chief and co-founder of Parti Anak Jati Sarawak (Pajar), the late Datuk Seri Alli Kawi is posthumously awarded the same honour (D.A Posthumous).

This is followed by the conferment of the Panglima Negara Bintang Sarawak award to Bintulu Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing and former Sarawak Welfare and Women Affairs assistant minister Datuk Sharifah Mordiah Tuanku Fauzi, which carries the title ‘Datuk Sri’.

The four recipients of the Panglima Gemilang Bintang Kenyalang award which carries the title ‘Datuk’ are Betong Member of Parliament Robert Lawson Chuat, Sarawak Rural Electricity assistant minister Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Jatti Mereik Association president Datuk Abdillah Abdul Rahim and Federation of Miri Division Chinese Associations Sarawak president Hii Teck Yun.

The six recipients of the Jasa Bakti Sarawak award which carries the title ‘Datu’ are permanent secretary of Sarawak Resource Planning and Environment Ministry Dr Wan Lizoman Wan Omar, general manager of Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) Soedirman Aini and chief executive officer of Sarawak Energy Berhad Sharbini Suhaili.

The others are executive secretary of State Cabinet Committee Meeting Sutin Shamat, deputy vice-chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) Professor Mohd Fadzil Abdul Rahman and director of Sarawak Immigration Department Ken Leben.

Twelve other recipients received the Panglima Setia Bintang Sarawak which carries the title “Datuk” including group managing director of Harbour-Link Group Bhd Yong Piaw Soon, ustaz Ismawi Duet of Sarawak Islamic Religious Council and managing director of Konsortium Bumi Consultants and Services Sdn Bhd Janang Bungsu.

Other awards are the Johan Bintang Sarawak (two recipients), Johan Bintang Kenyalang (13), Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (Gold) (20), Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (21) and Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (Posthumous) (one).
