KUCHING: A 76-year-old man suffered leg injuries after his kitchen caught fire at 6pm last Monday.
The victim was in the house at Batu Kawa near here when his kitchen caught fire, prompting the neighbours to rush over to help.
Firemen rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call while the neighbours used fire extinguishers to put out the fire.
The fire was completely put out about half an hour later.
The elderly man was later taken to Sarawak General Hospital for treatment.
