Felcra lends help to 176 flood victims

MUKAH: A total of 176 flood victims in Mukah received assistance from Felcra Berhad Sarawak Region, Mukah Zone.

They are actually the participants of Felcra project from villages such as Kampung Jebungan, Teh ,Tabo, Tegak and Penakub Ulu. Given the honour to present the assistance items was Balingian Assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi. The presentation ceremony was held at Bayau Mas Multipurpose Hall of Kampung Tegak, Mukah yesterday.

Also present at the handing over of the items to the 176 victims was the General Manager of Felcra Bhd Sarawak Region Haji Saifudin Hj. Omar.

In his speech, Abdul Yakub said Felcra Berhad will be distributing aid items in the form of daily necessities to flood victims throughout Sarawak in stages. The victims involved are from Metading area numbering 168 participants comprising those from Kampung Penakub (51), Kampung Tabo (41), Kampung Tegak (60), Kampung Metading (nine), Kampung Jebungan (three) and four from Sungai Pengerut.

“It is hoped that these items would be able to lighten the burdens of the victims,” added Abdul Yakub.

Apart from the recipients, also present were local heads of government departments.
