KUCHING: The Deputy President of Dewan Negara, Senator Datuk Seri Abdul Halim Abd Samad has given his approval to the state’s modern approach to the agricultural industry.

“Sarawak has adopted an approach to agriculture that is more modern and appropriate to the digital era by using a digital system.

“I can see that Sarawak, in terms of agriculture, is following more modern methods.

“I hope this will be successful as it is appropriate for the youths today who can easily adapt to more modern methods.

“This is especially useful to help our youths, especially those who had just completed their studies,” he said to the reporters during a visit to the Permanent Food Production Park (Tapak Pengeluaran Makanan Kekal, TKPM) at Rampangi here yesterday.

His visit was part of his working visit to Kuching from 5 to 8 February 2018.

The TKPM in Rampangi utilises a fertigation system that allows farmers to use their smartphones for the management of fertiliser on their crops.
