KUCHING: Kuching City South Council (MBKS) is looking into the development of a tourism product related to Kuching Festival which will put Kuching and Sarawak on the world map.
“We are looking at something, but I cannot announce it now. But if it materialises then we will be on the world map,” MBKS Councillor Haji Mohamad Taufik Abdul Ghani disclosed at a press conference with MBKS Mayor Datyo James Chan Khay Syn yesterday.
“That is another event, which is in the development at the moment, but I cannot announce it yet until I can get it confirmed,” Mohamad Taufik said.
According to him, if it is confirmed then it will be on Asian TV.
“So that is what we are looking at now. So once we go there then basically it will become a very important tourism product for Kuching and in Sarawak for that matter,” he said.
“So which means people will start to come to Kuching for Kuching Festival, and people will make time and make holidays plan and all that for Kuching Festival, and that is what we are aiming for now,” he added.
