KUCHING: A narcotic team raided an apartment unit in MJC on Thursday night and arrested a 26 year old man and seized a number of drugs from him.
The team, acting on information received, arrived at the apartment unit where the suspect, from Jalan Berjaya, Sibu was in. They found drugs (Ecstacy) hidden in plastic bags, hair dryer box and all over the place in the unit.
535 grams of Syabu and 1,450 grams of Ecstacy pills were seized. A total 4,980 pills were found in the apartment.
The Syabu seized was valued at RM80,250 and Ecstacy was valued at RM249,000.
A Toyota Vios valued at RM60,000 was also seized. Also seized were three gold rings valued at RM4,194, a pair of ear-rings at RM1,362 and cash of RM4,037.
The suspect was also tested positive for Methamphetamine drug. He is detained and will be charged under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952. If convicted, he will be sentenced to death. The suspect will also be charged under Section 15 (1) (a) of ADB 1952 for drugs consumption.
