KUCHING: Police detained a 29-year-old man over alleged criminal intimidation against a pregnant woman in Jalan Batu 7, here on Wednesday.
Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Azman Yusof said it was believed that the incident was caused by a misunderstanding between the suspect and the victim.
“It is learnt that the suspect was unhappy with the victim’s act of honking at him before a car chase ensued which then caused the woman’s car to suffer damage.
“The suspect is also alleged to have threatened the victim,” he told reporters after the monthly gathering of the Sarawak police contingent here yesterday.
Azman said initial investigation revealed that the suspect had previous criminal records relating to drugs, housebreaking and theft adding that the case was being investigated under Section 507 of the Penal Code.-Bernama
