KUCHING: In 2017, the Malaysian Productivity Corporation (MPC) Sarawak had organised 76 capacity building programmes which involved 2,241 participants.

Board Member of MPC, Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Openg, disclosed that the participation rate has increased by more than 133 per cent compared to 2016.

“With the theme of ‘Strengthening Organisational Excellence for Digital Economy’, we have scheduled 56 capacity building programmes this year.

“We have to be pro-active in helping the government in transforming the state into a digital society in not just economics, but in all aspects of life.

“It is our responsibility in assisting them in reaching this goal as well as to promote productivity,” he said during the launching ceremony of MPC Sarawak’s capacity building programmes at their office here yesterday.

Abang Abdul Karim believed that plans by MPC Sarawak would be relevant with the government’s efforts in focusing on digital economy.

“Therefore, I urge all organisations in Sarawak to benefit from these programmes and work together with MPC Sarawak,” he said.
