KUCHING: Mr. Teddy Bear Clinic will be held on August 26, 2018 at the Sarawak State Library from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. This programme is a collaboration between Sarawak State Library; Cats FM; UKE Malaysian Students (United Kingdom Eire Malaysian Student); and Unimas Medical Society.

The inspiration behind the idea of ‘Mr. Teddy Bear Clinic’ comes from an already well-established international project known as the Teddy Bear Hospital (TBH) which aims to familiarise children to healthcare environment and medical treatments in a fun and interactive way. The concept of ‘Mr. Teddy Bear Clinic’ revolves around getting young children to better understand why doctors do what they do and why it is important for them to acknowledge them as their ‘heroes’.

The children themselves will be presented with a multitude of fun opportunities for role play such as surgery, first aid, healthy eating, healthy lifestyle, injection and x-ray. The kids will get a chance to enjoy six stations with different learning objectives such as Teddy Call 999; Operation 101; My Tummy’s Stuffed; Make Way for Airway!; Nice Shot!; and Run Teddy Run! Not to forget, the kids to bring their own teddy bear during the program. Admission is fee. Grab yours by calling Ong Soon Foon at 082-442000 (ext. 342), or email to ongsf@sarawak.gov.my; and Sabriena at 019-8934069, or email to mr.teddybearclinic@gmail.com.
