KUCHING: Sarawak Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud yesterday received a courtesy call from the new Director of the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) Sarawak Region Capt (Maritime)
Robert Teh Geok Chuan at Demak Jaya Kuching.
The visit was the first courtesy call by Teh to the Sarawak Head of State after his appointment as the new MMEA Director since last July 6.
When speaking to reporters during the courtesy call, Teh said he alsoi informed Tun Taib about the MMEA assets that are in operation as well as the area of responsibilities of MMEA in the state, especially its enforcement on the waters as well as the tasks of search and rescue in order to ensure the Sarawak waters remain under control and safe.
