MIRI:The Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Secretary-General, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chew Yew yesterday lauded efforts made by 50 lawyers who attended a dialogue session with Chief Minister,  Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg in Kuching on Thursday on the Petroleum Development Act (PDA) in 1974 and Petronas issues.

“Indeed, this is a good thing for Sarawak.  The unity seen here and the coming together is awesome,”  Ting told  New Sarawak Tribune via  WhatsApp.

He credited the President of Advocates Association Sarawak, Ranbir Singh Singha and his Committee members for  organising the historical dialogue with the Chief Minister.

“I was touched, impressed and indeed very happy to see so many lawyers, from both sides of the political divide, coming together to defend and protect Sarawak and in particular, our Oil and Gas resources.

“We hope and believe all Sarawakians will rally behind our Chief Minister and give him the fullest support to defend and fight this case with the objective of protecting and preserving our own resources, in this case, our Oil and Gas resources.
