KUCHING: Police are still waiting for the outcome of the investigation by the Forensic Unit of the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) into last Tuesday’s blast at NeNe Chicken, CityOne Megamall here.
State commissioner of police DCP Datuk Pahlawan Mohd Dzuraidi Ibrahim said pending the outcome, police were still classifying the three deaths due to the blast as sudden death.
“You have to refer to Bomba and its Forensic Unit on the details of the probe,” he said when asked to comment on the progress of investigation into the tragedy.
In the 3.30pm explosion, three were killed and 41 others injured. All the victims are Malaysians except one who is Indonesian. Of the three who died in the blast, one is a Penangite.
Dzuraidi was met after he officiated the closing of a two-day full-scale ‘Acts of Aggression’ exercise at a hotel here.
