KUCHING: The Swinburne Theatre Club performed their latest theatre play, ‘Puteri Gunung Ledang’ which saw 550 in attendance. The script writers for the play were Seamus Lim and Deborah Lee which featured Alicia Itat Jabing as Puteri Gunung Ledang and Caillian Tyler van Piggelen as Hang Tuah.

Although the script was re-written, it still kept the story line true to its legend while adapted and delivered in English to appeal to both local and international audience. Alicia is a student of the Bachelor in Business (Management & Digital Media) while Caillian is a student of the Bachelor of Business (Management).

Since both of them have performing art experience prior to studying in Swinburne they are able to deliver the play effectively which captivated the audience. Another main character, Sultan Mahmud Shah was played by Mohammad Azim Mohammad Amin who is a student of Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronics).

He has participated in Swinburne’s previous theatre plays such as ‘Footloose’ and ‘Hairspray’. The production of Puter i Gunung Ledang was closely guided by the club’s advisor, Norizan Tan, who has been leading the club for more than eight years.
