KUCHING: The relevant authorities have repaired a snapped underground electricity cable in front of Sentosa wet market at Mile 7 near here. 

This was disclosed by Sarawak United People’s Party Public Complaints Bureau (SUPP PCB) Chief Wilfred Yap who said he was informed by residents that there was a loud bang and smoke causing a sink hole on the road by the side of a corner shop house selling chicken products in front of the Market.

The residents expressed concern and requested for Yap’s assistance to notify the relevant authorities to find out the cause of the loud bang and smoke and to rectify the problem.

 Yap then informed the Engineering Section of Majlis Perbandaran Padawan (MPP) and officers from MPP went to inspect and assess the situation to find out the cause of the problem.

 During the inspection, it was discovered that an underground electricity cable belonging to Sesco had snapped and the matter was communicated by MPP officers to Sesco for their action as the snapped electric cable was dangerous to the public.
