DALAT: The selection of players for the state Youth Cup 2019 team had also attracted the youths from this progressive district.
They were Roderick and Bernard from Kampung Tanam Dalat who departed to Sarikei yesterday morning to participate in the event held at Mini Stadium of Sarikei that afternoon.
Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) has been conducting the selection for the potential players from throughout the state since Jan 9.
The first venue was at the Sri Aman Mini Stadium to cater the players from Sri Aman, Betong, Saratok and the nearby districts.
It was followed by Sarikei (Jan 16) for the players from Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit and the nearby districts, Mini Stadium Miri on Jan 20 for those from Miri, Bintulu, Limbang, Lawas and the nearby districts and Padang C of Kuching on Jan 22, for Kuching, Lundu, Bau, Samarahan, Serian and the nearby districts.
FAS hoped the respective divisional football associations will inform their potential players for the selection to be held as stated.
Dalat District Futsal Club chairman, Daniel Francis Klumai hoped the duo from Dalat will be able to impress the panel at the selection session in Sarikei.
