MIRI: Miri’s Fire and Rescue Services Department (Bomba Miri) yesterday received a distress call of a fire incident in Kampung Masjid Tiris Bekenu, near Miri. The call was received at 10.41am and the fire engine from Miri Fire Station arrived at the scene at 11.30am.
Six personnel using three vehicles were involved in the operation that was led by Zulbada Bin Alior, the station head.
Also involved was head of operaton Razali Haji Junis. Based on the operation report, upon arrival at the scene, it was found that the wooded house was totally damaged in the fire whereas the neighbouring house was about four per cent damaged.
The operation ended at 12.35pm. There was no fatality or injury reported. Investigation on the amount of losses and on the cause of fire was still ongoing at press time.
