NGOs clean up Kala Dana beach

MUKAH: A group of local non-governmental organisations joined hands and took to Kala Dana beach here on Saturday to get involved in a cleaning exercise.

It was organised by Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) Kampung Kuala Lama, led by Zainal Laily, in collaboration with Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) St Patrick’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), Surau Darul Huda Kampung Kuala Lama, Badan Khairat Kematian Kampung Kuala Lama, students of Mara University of technology (UiTM) Mukah, Pertubuhan Impian Mukah, and Mukah Youth Organisation.

The effort was also supported by Mukah Parliament Service Centre and Dalat and Mukah District Council (MDDM).

The exercise began at 7.30am and ended at 10am.

Kala Dana beach is the designated site for the annual Pesta Kaul (Melanau traditional festival) which is usually held in April.
