KUCHING: Parti Bumi Kenyalang president Voon Lee Shan has taken a jibe at the Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) for contesting in the 15th general election (GE15).

In urging DAP to withdraw from contesting in Sarawak in the coming general election, he said as a ‘foreign party’ it has no business in Sarawak.

“It was never the intention of our forefathers to have any Malayan political parties setting foot here. They are aliens to Sarawakians,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Voon added that the parliamentary seats in Sarawak are meant for political parties from Sarawak and not for Malayan political parties to grab.

“Sarawak is only given 31 out of 222 seats in parliament and the seat won by political parties from Malaya is a seat taken by Malaya.

“It is better for DAP and political parties from Malaya to solve the economic, social and political problems in Malaya first before poking their nose at Sarawak,” he said.

Voon also commented that the problems faced in Malaya could cause the collapse of the nation and suggested that political parties from Malaya such as DAP, PKR, AMANAH and PAS use their energies and resources to clear the mess there (Malaya).

He pointed out that Chong Chieng Jen, who is also the chairman of Sarawak DAP, and his colleagues should resign from DAP and joined local political parties.

In saying that, he gave a reason that Malayan political parties began to not be accepted by Sarawakians and the result of the 12th state election against them was loud and clear.
